PGT-SR
PGT-SR (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Chromosomal Structural Rearrangements) is a genetic test for structural rearrangements of chromosomes. It involves the assessment of the genetic material of embryos formed during the in vitro procedure. PTG-SR identifies embryos that have the correct amount of genetic material and those that have an additional or missing genetic material created as a result of translocation or reorganization in chromosomes. The selection and transfer of healthy embryos increases the chance of proper implantation and the birth of a healthy child.
When to perform the PGT-SR test?
The test should be considered especially when:
- You or your partner are carriers of translocations / rearrangements of chromosomes,
- you have a child with chromosomal translocation / rearrangement,
- one or more pregnancies have ended in a miscarriage,
- you have failed in vitro procedures,
- you have oncological therapy behind you.
Why is it worth to perform the PGT-SR test?
- The study allows the selection of a healthy and best-promising embryo for transfer.
- The transfer of a healthy embryo increases the chance of pregnancy and the birth of a healthy child and reduces the risk of miscarriage.
